Tomoko

Hello! I am a certified Pilates instructor based in New York City. I am passionate about making positive changes to people’s lives through providing a safe, fun and challenging workout space. 

Pilates is a workout method that connect with our bodies, cultivate mindfulness and uplift our spirits. I discovered it myself by recovering from my injured body after pregnancy. I became stronger in my core, felt more positive and comfortable about my body, and built confidence and authentic with myself. I never felt that way in any exercise, so I jumped into the journey to share the wealth of Pilates with others.

I believe it is important that we all find an exercise that we can continue, and also a relaxing workout environment where we can focus on our progress. Whether you are beginner or experienced, I am dedicated to tailoring my instruction to meet your unique needs and goals, and make the sessions fun and challenging. I am happy that I can serve the diverse range of individuals in NYC + around the world virtually through teaching both in English and Japanese. I am committed to create a mindful and uplifting space for “every body” during/before/after our sessions.

I have also been active as a global health advocate, thus delivering health and wellness to the communities near and far is my personal mission.

More about Tomoko

Tomoko is a certified Pilates instructor and a global health advocate, working to bring changes to improve health and well-being of the communities near and far. 

After completing 500+ hours of training at top-tier NY Pilates studios, she has been teaching at several Pilates studios in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Thanks to her clients, Tomoko keeps learning to serve more diverse clients with different needs, age range and body types. Also, she devotes her time to train herself through meeting master teachers and talented instructor friends in the mecca of Pilates.

Tomoko also works as a global health advocate and health communication specialist. She found her passion through a musical RENT, earned MPH degree in International Community Health Education, and since has worked with international organizations, non-profit organizations and private companies to make difference in communities.
